I checked the booklet and it seemed to indicate a nokia 6310i which I duly purchased from e-bay but it doesn't fit ?
Does anyone know what type of mobile phone will fit the cradle in my 2005 mercedes c class ?
Mercedes no longer sells phones. They were such a pain that benz has gone with a bluetooth interface. No mercedes specific handsets are available at this time (trust me I work for a dealer and we cant even get them). You more than likely have a v60 cradle in your center console. I suggest looking up a picture of a v60s and comparing it to your cradle. If it is a v60 cradle you can either purchase a v60s handset or a bluetooth dongle from benz. The dongle is a bluetooth transmitter/receiver that is shaped like a v60 and can be inserted in the v60 style cradle. Any phone with bluetooth capability can then be connected to the c-class phone system. Good luck.
Reply:Did you buy a used Nokia 6310i that was out of a Mercedes or just a standard 6310i? The reason I ask is that MB contracts Nokia to make phones for their cars. In that process, Nokia designs an interface that is compatible with the MB radio system. It will differ slightly from a standard Nokia 6310i and will not work with your MB unless it has the MB interface. The connectors are different and sometimes that battery housing differs as well.
Be sure to buy a MB- Nokia made phone. Otherwise, it will not work with your car.

How do u get the road name in map mode on the bottom of a 06 c class?
i have a 04-06 navteq cd..
i am not talking about zooming in or anything...i mean like when u are in map mode u can see a blue or white color line on the bottom telling which road u are traveling on...plz help....10 points guraenteed if good answer and if u really know how to do it

Benz is a reliable car until maintenance is needed. Benz has needle bearings in the mains on the engine block -- makes the car real smooth at 100mph -- but those bearings eventually leak and it's ususally the front one. Happens at about 50,000 on the odometer. Then you're looking at $3-5k. On a Volks, I'd only go with the models made in the last 3 years. Volks has come a long ways recently.

WHERE is the gas tank opener button or whatever on like a '99 or '00 c-class kompressor?
call me dumb.. but i'm usually not new.. i've looked everywhere that it could possibly be, and i can't find it.. please help. i need to get gas.

Reply:I believe the previous answer is correct. There is no pushbutton inside the vehicle, like most Japanese cars. I have a 97 C230 and a 94 C220 and you simply push in on the gas filler door on the right (front) edge when the vehicle is unlocked, and the door opens far enough to pull it open from the left (rear) edge. Unscrew (counter-clockwise) the gas cap and you are all set.

The remote is the key, when you press the release button on your remote it open all doors/cover which include the gas tank cover. When you press the lock button on your remote, it locks everything.
After pressing the release button on your remote control, manually press the right side of the gas tank cover (when you are facing it), after you have done your refilling, you will have to press the release button of your remote again, by doing that, you will see, the gas tank cover pop back to close position.
Just to be sure, the remote is the key itself, you will see no 'key blade' in the W210 or later Kompresser model. The remote is self charged every time you drive. The lock button is at the top, release button at the bottom left and the trunk release button is on the bottom right.

The guy in the parts dept. said "It's is easy, just fold the mirror back, release a clip and the whole mirror case slides off revealing the lamp assembly."
Unfortunately, no matter which way I fold the mirror I can't find a clip to release!

Wow...tough choice, both are very nice cars. Personally I like the new CTS over the C-Class, the Cadillac has a sporty look and an equally nice interior. Plus you can get one with a lot more options for what you can get with the Benz for the same price.
