1985 Chevy Winnebago class c motor home won't turn over...any advice?

Ok, I've had the alternator tested, it's fine. I've replaced the battery, just today. Brand new house batteries as well. It will only start using housing batteries alone or house batteries and engine battery together. It will not start on engine battery alone. There is switch to delegate which battery to use. The battery volt gauge shows 14 for house battery, and 0 for engine battery. I know that it's probably something electrical, but I'm wondering if anyone could pinpoint the problem or get me close to the problem. Thanks!

Yes it may be a switch that you have not found, but it could be that the positive cable from the engine battery to the starter is not getting a good connection on the solenoid. That would explain why it cranks with the house battery and not the one that is supposed to crank it. Or the ground from the engine battery has a bad connection.
Reply:Thanks! It was the ground, it was loose. Firing right up now! Report It

Reply:There's a switch somewhere you haven't found that isolates the coach battery from the engine battery. Follow both battery cables from each battery til you find it. Usually somewhere near the driver's seat.
Reply:Battery disconnect for the starting battery does not seem like it is working. It is controlled by a switch. Could be the switch, the disconnect solenoid, fuse for the switch, or poor wiring connections.
Reply:Check the positive and ground to and from they tend to crack due to aging this will cause starting problems if one grounds out.
