I checked the booklet and it seemed to indicate a nokia 6310i which I duly purchased from e-bay but it doesn't fit ?
Does anyone know what type of mobile phone will fit the cradle in my 2005 mercedes c class ?
Mercedes no longer sells phones. They were such a pain that benz has gone with a bluetooth interface. No mercedes specific handsets are available at this time (trust me I work for a dealer and we cant even get them). You more than likely have a v60 cradle in your center console. I suggest looking up a picture of a v60s and comparing it to your cradle. If it is a v60 cradle you can either purchase a v60s handset or a bluetooth dongle from benz. The dongle is a bluetooth transmitter/receiver that is shaped like a v60 and can be inserted in the v60 style cradle. Any phone with bluetooth capability can then be connected to the c-class phone system. Good luck.
Reply:Did you buy a used Nokia 6310i that was out of a Mercedes or just a standard 6310i? The reason I ask is that MB contracts Nokia to make phones for their cars. In that process, Nokia designs an interface that is compatible with the MB radio system. It will differ slightly from a standard Nokia 6310i and will not work with your MB unless it has the MB interface. The connectors are different and sometimes that battery housing differs as well.
Be sure to buy a MB- Nokia made phone. Otherwise, it will not work with your car.

How do u get the road name in map mode on the bottom of a 06 c class?
i have a 04-06 navteq cd..
i am not talking about zooming in or anything...i mean like when u are in map mode u can see a blue or white color line on the bottom telling which road u are traveling on...plz help....10 points guraenteed if good answer and if u really know how to do it

Benz has needle bearings in the mains on the engine block -- makes the car real smooth at 100mph -- but those bearings eventually leak and it's ususally the front one. Happens at about 50,000 on the odometer. Then you're looking at $3-5k. On a Volks, I'd only go with the models made in the last 3 years. Volks has come a long ways recently.

I have a 97 C230 and a 94 C220 and you simply push in on the gas filler door on the right (front) edge when the vehicle is unlocked, and the door opens far enough to pull it open from the left (rear) edge. Unscrew (counter-clockwise) the gas cap and you are all set.

The remote is the key, when you press the release button on your remote it open all doors/cover which include the gas tank cover. When you press the lock button on your remote, it locks everything.
After pressing the release button on your remote control, manually press the right side of the gas tank cover (when you are facing it), after you have done your refilling, you will have to press the release button of your remote again, by doing that, you will see, the gas tank cover pop back to close position.
Just to be sure, the remote is the key itself, you will see no 'key blade' in the W210 or later Kompresser model. The remote is self charged every time you drive. The lock button is at the top, release button at the bottom left and the trunk release button is on the bottom right.

The guy in the parts dept. said "It's is easy, just fold the mirror back, release a clip and the whole mirror case slides off revealing the lamp assembly."
Unfortunately, no matter which way I fold the mirror I can't find a clip to release!

Wow...tough choice, both are very nice cars. Personally I like the new CTS over the C-Class, the Cadillac has a sporty look and an equally nice interior. Plus you can get one with a lot more options for what you can get with the Benz for the same price.

lets say a class has a test catagory worth 75 percent of your grade and a homework catagory worth 25.
if you got all the points in the 25 percent, about what percent average in the test catagory is nessesary to obtain a C (70 prcent) in the class?

If you get all the points in the homework section, you're guaranteed at least 25% of the total score. Your goal is 70%, so you need to get at least 45% more of the total score to get a C. Since the only other way to get points is through test scores, you need to get 45 out of 75 points, or 60% average on the tests.

i would suggest a bmw, either a 3 series or a 5 series. you can buy one with decent mileage and a good reg for 5k.
dont get the mazda, it will depreciate a lot and the car parts are expensive as most likely they will have to be imported.
the mercedes maybe ok, but im not much of a mercedes fan...depends on your personal taste i guess.
if you want economy and reliability i would suggest a honda, or toyota. but if you want a bit of prestige then go for a bmw.

The Mazda 6 is a nice car, looks good, but as with all Japanese cars the ride is not really up to spec. It's good, but a VW Passat is better. Given the choice I'd have a Passat.

Not to mention the fact that someone may pinch it to feed their drug habit or even worse pinch your stereo %26amp; get their grubby mitts all over but then you still have to keep the car.

Reply:You don't say which models...eg the Saab 9-3 Vector Sport is a good car if it has a large engine, the 1.8t is very slow. Personally I would choose the Lexus as the dealer networks are normally very good unlike the Mercedes dealers who are hopeless.

Reply:The Lexus, Best engine and by far the most reliable. In my opinion you are better off in in a posh Toyota (Lexus) than a posh Ford Mondeo (Saab %26amp; Volvo) . Forget the Merc unlike its predecessors it will just be a continuous headache. If its a toss up between the Volvo and Saab, I reluctantly advise the Volvo (newer technology) the Saab is really an oldish (but great) car with numerous face lifts. Do yourself a favour buy the Lexus! It would be the machcanic's choice.

Reply:The Lexus, Best engine and by far the most reliable. In my opinion you are better off in in a posh Toyota (Lexus) than a posh Ford Mondeo (Saab %26amp; Volvo) . Forget the Merc unlike its predecessors it will just be a continuous headache. If its a toss up between the Volvo and Saab, I reluctantly advise the Volvo (newer technology) the Saab is really an oldish (but great) car with numerous face lifts. Do yourself a favour buy the Lexus! It would be the machcanic's choice.

Which car should I buy, a 07 Toyota Camry or a 07 Mercedes-Benz C-Class?
Here is the situation: I do not live in the U.S and here cars are more expensive than America. I have an offer to buy a 07 Toyota Camry 2.4L or a 07 Mrcedes-Benz 1.8L (some cars also come smaller here). They are almost the same price, which one should I buy in this situation taking in mind everything (fuel consumption, maintenance, resale value, comfort ...etc.)? And in normal situation which one should I buy then? And why, thank you!

I would get the Toyota because I am pretty sure it would not spend a lot of time on the dealers lift. Short of Mercedes just having a better dealer network in your area, they have almost no advantages over the Toyotas.

If I have mostly As and A-s in my real classes junior year (high school), how much does a C in a music class matter?
As in, will it hurt me for college? What if I get an incomplete?

Colleges will NOT only look at your grades.... or most good colleges won't.
I think they accepted me b/c I wrote a good essay, I had my teachers send them recommendation letters, I was in NHS and officer of it, and I also did a little volunteering, and and and I HAD GOOD GRADES.
One C won't hurt that much... but try to bring it up... you still have time... and you can still get into a UNIVERSITY instead of those community colleges/high schools or whatever.

I had a Toyota Avalon '95. That was my pizza delivery car and drove the crap outta it and put alotta miles to it which has 186500 miles now and still running... Oil changed it like every 6000 miles. Now I need like a transmission fix or something...I would say the Avalon is very reliable to drive and nice if you take care of it better than I can :P.

C320/C240 it's on the front of the engine, driver's side next to the oil filter, just below the driver side intake hose.
For 2003 C230 Kompressor coupe and sedan it's on the passenger side top of the engine, pulley right in front of it. You can't miss it.

I say if you're completely comfortable with dropping it, that it's the best option. You need a 5 on the exam for it to count anywhere and usual a 5 on the Physics: C test also. I wish I would have taken AP Chem because AP Physics is not really useful for the future. Good luck! (If you struggled through the first quarter, everything else is extremely difficult)

Reply:Treat once or twice a year with any product recommended for leather furniture and car seats. I use "Oakwood" on the car seats and on shoes as well. There are a dozen other quality products available. Don't use standard Armor All or similar, but I believe their specialty leather product is good. Best to wipe over the seats with a damp, not dripping rag and allow that to dry. Apply the leather product to seats in warm weather and allow the product to sink in for a few hours if possible, then wipe off the excess. The linings on the doors will be vinyl.

If this is an isolated incident and you dont intend to go to an Ivy league school then you really dont have to worry.
One bad grade wont tank your GPA. Also, if you do really well on the SAT's, colleges will overlook a poor GPA.

Considering that your question implies that the Mercedes C-Class is an entry level luxury car (which I would agree that it is) I would actually say the X-type has more prestige. Granted the X-type is not an XJ8 and therefore will never garner the same respect. But still in all it is a Jag. Let me tell you a little story about the respect of a Jag over a Mercedes. This is a true story. A few years back I purchased a C-class Mercedes that was in impeccable condition and I was very proud of it. It was snow white with camel interior. A striking combination. Everyone that saw it agreed that it was a beautiful car. However, I had one person tell me "that is a beautiful Toyota"...OMG they called it a TOYOTA..then another person said "I love your new Chrysler"...then another one said "what is that? The new Toyota?" After those comments my pride in my new "luxury" car was battered. I ran across a 1996 Jaguar XJ6 I'd never owned a Jag but always loved the classic lines. I bought it and fell in love. I never once pulled up to a place where someone mistook it for anything but a Jaguar. I had strangers stop me and say how they wished they had a Jag. I never had that happen in any BMW or Mercedes I ever owned. Today I own a pristine 90 Jaguar XJS and a Beautiful low mileage '83 380SL Mercedes. And guess which car gets all the questions.... Nothing says prestige like that long low stance with the chrome Jaguar leaping from the leading edge of the hood guiding your way. Go for the X-type and let the haters hate. I have found the best place for tires and rims is to go to www.tirerack.com. They have thousands of rims and tires to choose from. You can put in your car model and style and year and they will show you many different types of tires and rims.
I have used them before and they are very reliable. BTW, this is not a commercial and I don't work for them and I'm not in the car business.

Private sales usually net more cash. And MC C-class stills has a pretty good resale value. If you work with the dealer, tell them you have a trade-in as a LAST part of the negotiation. Otherwise, your final price will be jacked-up a little higher to account for the "free" extra money you're getting on the trade-in--hence, no benefit to you.

How do you remove the front door panels on a 2005/2006 c class mercedes ?
An acetylene torch will do the job right quick. You got one?
How do you remove the front door panels on a 2005/2006 c class mercedes ?
Quite simply - don't! The car is still less than three years old and removal of door panels, or any other parts can void the warranty.
Reply:1) using a flat head screw driver, gently pry off the buttons on the power seat switch.
2)Remove the plastic cover behind the chrome door pull
3)Once plastic cover is removed, unscrew the small philips screw.
4) screw off the door locking pin.
5) unscrew the chrome C-shaped piece on the side of the door at the end(there are 2 screws holding it).
6) If your door has speakers, remove the 2 screws at the bottom of the speaker grill and remove the grill.
7) The padded arm pull has 3 screws. Once the speaker grill is removed, the last screw will be accessable. Unscrew the last and middle screw. The first screw will not be accessable yet.
8)Going back to step 1 where you removed the buttons off the seat control switch, gently remove the black plastic cover. Careful as the side closest to the passenger has a tab and it can break, so start from the middle and lift towards you. It should come off easily.
9)Once the black plastic cover is removed, unscrew the 2 brass colored screws that hold the seat control switch. Pull it out and unplug the wires from the back.
10) At this point, the black "cage-looking" metal frame around the chrome door pull should slide off a bit. Once you slide it off a bit, the screw holding the padded door pull will be accessable and unscrew that.
11)Remember that the door panel is held on by L-shaped hooks and you don't want to break them off. So push the panel in and then UPWARDS. Do NOT pull it towards you... but ONLY UPWARDS.
To put the door panel back on... simply reverse the instructions.

Which car should i buy New Audi A4 or New Mercedes C class?
It totally depends on what you are looking for in a car. Mercedes has improved their C- class a lot but like all mercedes you are paying way too much for what you get and they just don't stack up to the BMW's and Audi's it competes against. The Audi A4 is way more of a drivers car and the best bang for your buck between the big 3 german manufactures. With the A4 you get the best All wheel drive system you can buy (especially if you live where you do winter driving). Both engines you get in the A4 are awesome, I'm not really sure on the option for engines in the C-class. The C-class with be more cushy but you want to feel the road and rip around corners when you get nice cars like these so you should totally go with A4.

This would depend on two things...Your driving record and if you were going to pay for it yourself. If you are paying for it yourself, buy whatever you want and be prepared to pay out the nose for insurance on either one of these cars. I have an 18 year old. I could not afford either of these cars for myself easily, and I sure would not want to have to pay for the vehicle insurance for an 18 year old, especially with a range rover.

Talk to a C-class owner and listen to the war stories they have about taking to the dealer for repairs and then look at the terrible resale of the C-class. That should get you in a BMW quicker than anything.

In my opinion, the C-Class looks much more striking than the 3-Series sedan, however, I would choose the 3-Series coupe over a CLK. Both cars are very similar in option packages, as well as performance. If you want a more sprite, sportier handling, I'd opt for the 3-Series, or the C-Class sport, the 3-Series being a bit sportier. If you want crisp handling, but not as much emphasis on sportiness, I would choose the C-Class luxury. The styling on the Mercedes-Benz is more of a reserved elegant, even on the sport model, whereas the styling of the BMW is more lively and sporty. The choice is yours, I hope I have given you enough information. C++ building a class with 2 dimensional vectors?
I'm trying to get some framework off the ground for a project involving drawing a game board using 2D vectors. This is an early framework....All I want is to get something to compile. Let's just say for now I want a 5 X 5 matrix. I can't quite get the call part to work so it will compile. Can someone who is good with C++ look at this code and tell me whats wrong. Thanks.

The problem is PrintRow() returns void. You're trying to put void into cout, and that object definitely won't have overloaded the %26lt;%26lt; operator to take void.
Your PrintRow() functions prints out the row internally. Change "cout%26lt;%26lt; vec.printRow(r);" to "vec.printRow(r);".
Hope this helps. I haven't checked for any other errors, so it may still fail to compile.

Has anyone installed xenon HID kit on a 1997 C Class mercedes? If so how?
I just did a couple days ago. i purchased the OEM hid xenon headlights that came stock on the c43 amg's. i have a 1997 c280 they fit great and work like a charm. however, i must have gotten a defective one because my ignitor went out after the first day of use. i was very upset, but they do look good and work great when theyre not broken. i hope this answers your question.
by the way, it was a pain taking the old headlights out, ill give you a hint: theres a little clip on the backside of the CORNER lights, squeeze it and the corner light pops out, it will reveal some bolts and screws which hold the headlight assembly in. there are 3 bolts which hold the assembly in, the one next to the radiator is a REAL pain to get out you have to remove all this plastic covering to get to it... its awful but doable.

Reply:wowow, zozo z is a moron, an m3 is the equivlent of a mercedes c-class AMG, IF THERE WAS SUCH AN AMG. FIrst of all if ur gonna get the 08 3 series, make sure you get the 335. I have a 328i and its alright fast, but the 335 will push u back in ur seat, also, get the coupe, it looks fire , but if ur more of a 4 door guy, the sedan doesnt look too bad. I do love mercedes, my dad has a 07 E350 and both him and I love love it, but the c-class is very low-end, and straight up ugly(especially the interior) in my opinion. I would test drive them both, but i think ur gonna like the 3 series, it handles like a dream.

The diesel image in the US isnt' a sporty one, and MB is concerned about how well a diesel C would sell.
That being said, one day you will probably see diesels across the line. MB is very dedicated to the diesel route moreso than hybrid.

I currently own a 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX. Well after owning this car for over a year I am not satisfied. The car is great handling and performance wise and that's about it! I am looking for a car with comfortable leather seating for long trips, ammenities, and last but not least RELIABILITY. I have been reading numerous amounts of reviews about all of the above cars. I noticed that MB and BMW seem to have the most repairs of all. But then again there were only 6-7 negative reviews out of 200. So I am curious what you guys have to say. I don't want to do what I did a year ago and regret this car. I was going to go with the 2002-2004 MB C230 Kompressor Coupe until I started to really read the reviews on Mercedes. I really hope somone can give me honest feedback on these cars and perhaps owned one themselves. Thanks!

My daughter had an Acura that she liked really well. Leather seats, style, etc. Now, she's a rider, not a driver after totalling it and getting the DUI. :-(

Nice little car, reliable, nice interior/exterior lines, not very expensive, unless you do all the upgrades and even then, it wouldn't cost as much as a Toyota Camry. Plus, there's a Chevy dealership on practically every corner, so parts and service aren't an issue. I like driving it and I own a Z06 Corvette and a Silverado LS 4x4 and I'm picky. So, if you need to impress someone, go with an Acura or Lexus. If you want a decent car that you won't be in debt forever over, buy something like a Cobalt.

Reply:Why are you asking this question on the lexus section? Instead of the unreliable C Class, you should get an Infiniti G35, BMW 3 Series, or Lexus IS350. They are all more reliable, have better ratings, just as safe if not safer, just as luxorious if not more, more technology, probably cost less, and have better reviews than the 2008 Mercedes C Class. In my opinion, the new Mercedes C Class looks ugly, especially in the rear. I can't think of any pros in buying a Mercedes C class, other than being able to say you have a Mercedes.
I'm hoping the new C Class would have better safety ratings. The previous C Class has a four star rating. Four stars are good, but not what I'm expecting fom a Mercedes. Even the Toyota Camry has a five star crash rating, WoW!
I believe the majority of Mercedes owners either are not aware of what they are getting from their cars, or are just buying the car to show off; because if you are buying a car for its luxury, get a Lexus. If you are buying a car for its performance, get a BMW. If you are buying a car for its value and performance, get the Infiniti G. If you want safety, all these cars are just as safe, if not safer (according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Aministration). All these cars are also a lot more reliable than the C Class according to Consumer Reports and a lot of other reliable sources.
So, to me, a Mercedes owner is either ignorant, or wants to show off (it's not like you're getting anything special from a Mercedes, other than the three spoke emblem that supposedly echoes the idea that you are better than everyone else). Hey, I would get a Mercedes, only if they start to make more reliable cars like they did a decade ago!
Fact: A new 2006 Mercedes M Class has more problems than a 1998 Lexus LS400 (Consumer Reports).
Consumer reports also rated Hyundai cars with a better reliability than Mercedes. Lexus and toyotas have been number one. Japanese cars have the old reputation of being light and unsafe, but that is simply not true. The National highway Safety Administration has given Japanese cars top safety ratings too.
I hope this informs you of what you're getting when you get buy a Mercedes these days.
