Reply:Why are you asking this question on the lexus section? Instead of the unreliable C Class, you should get an Infiniti G35, BMW 3 Series, or Lexus IS350. They are all more reliable, have better ratings, just as safe if not safer, just as luxorious if not more, more technology, probably cost less, and have better reviews than the 2008 Mercedes C Class. In my opinion, the new Mercedes C Class looks ugly, especially in the rear. I can't think of any pros in buying a Mercedes C class, other than being able to say you have a Mercedes.





I'm hoping the new C Class would have better safety ratings. The previous C Class has a four star rating. Four stars are good, but not what I'm expecting fom a Mercedes. Even the Toyota Camry has a five star crash rating, WoW!





I believe the majority of Mercedes owners either are not aware of what they are getting from their cars, or are just buying the car to show off; because if you are buying a car for its luxury, get a Lexus. If you are buying a car for its performance, get a BMW. If you are buying a car for its value and performance, get the Infiniti G. If you want safety, all these cars are just as safe, if not safer (according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Aministration). All these cars are also a lot more reliable than the C Class according to Consumer Reports and a lot of other reliable sources.


So, to me, a Mercedes owner is either ignorant, or wants to show off (it's not like you're getting anything special from a Mercedes, other than the three spoke emblem that supposedly echoes the idea that you are better than everyone else). Hey, I would get a Mercedes, only if they start to make more reliable cars like they did a decade ago!





Fact: A new 2006 Mercedes M Class has more problems than a 1998 Lexus LS400 (Consumer Reports).





Consumer reports also rated Hyundai cars with a better reliability than Mercedes. Lexus and toyotas have been number one. Japanese cars have the old reputation of being light and unsafe, but that is simply not true. The National highway Safety Administration has given Japanese cars top safety ratings too.





I hope this informs you of what you're getting when you get buy a Mercedes these days.
