Has anyone driven the new c-class saloon?

Am considering ordering the c220 elegance as my next company car - any advice would be much appreciated!

Has anyone driven the new c-class saloon?
Haven't driven one, but pulled up next to one a few days ago at the lights. I honestly thought there was something wrong with my engine, such was the clattering sound I could hear over my CD. Turned the CD down, %26amp; realised that the awful noise was of course coming from the brand new Merc beside me. When the lights went green, the driver obviously had to show me how superior his car was, %26amp; as he pulled away, traction control stuttering, he left me in the most goddawful cloud of smelly black smoke.

No wonder I hate Diesels, eh?

Reply:Just driven one as my hire car for the weekend and I must say that even the standard classic is a fabulous car. Then again my own personal car is an A-class! It feels better built than the previous c-class and has a much firmer, sportier drive. I cannot see any compact exec that touches it at the moment. Although the Audi A4 still has slightly nicer plastics, and The Lexus IS has a better diesel engine. I love merc touches like built in first-aid kits and speed sensitive power steering.
Reply:Simle advice is do not touch it

Much better an item for the sameish price.

I drove one new c-class a week ago.

it was crud, in that beggar did not all worked properly, and to cap it all the driver's seat sort of fell off its' mountings. Charming.

So much for Teutonic engineering.

Better off with a big Japanese Job.
Reply:A Mercedes-Benz is the finest car in the world.
Reply:Don't listen to 'bob the boat, he is probably someone who has nothing to do or just here to earn some points.

I am personally driving a C-class, 2001 C200K. before that, I thought Mercedes-Benz is putting the safety and comfort as top key points. But the Kompresser model changed my point of view. In fact, in south east Asia market, C-class W210 model has took the market by storm, putting it main competitors like BMW to it's knee. Also look into those advance features, that no leading Japanese cars can ever come close.

Go for it, get yourself the C-class, worth your money, my friend.
