I heard Mercedes-Benz C-Class C230 Kompressor Sport is garbage. Any experience with it?

Everything falls apart even under warranty. Car doesn't start, computer fails, among a tonn of other problems. Does anyone own this car? Any comments or feedback would be appreciated!!! It looks cool and not too pricy but want to buy a reliable car at the same time.

thanks

the whole mercedes C class has been a disaster..... Mercedes has been working hard to shake that mistake, you'll start to see the A class coming out soon and they are hoping it will erase the c class errors.........
Reply:we bought the new 2007 C-230,.. its was good,.. but could still hear a little road noise in the outside,.. and not very smooth on the roads,.

but i dont expect much of this car,.. get a higher class if u can,.. C-230 I like the looks of it,.. cute, sporty, and elegant,.. Report It

Reply:There is a saying which might help you,"one man's "trash/garbage" could be another man's" treasure". Mercedes-Benz has numerous makes and models to meet anyones wants, the price usually is the difference of "reliability" and comfort. Affordability and maintaining any vehicle,is a question ,which needs to be addressed when selecting your "new car". Good luck!
Reply:I owned this car for a little over a year. I liked it alot but I do find that is not up to par with the quality that you come to expect from Mercedes Benz. I had a lot of rattles from the driver door, the cargo cover and the glove box. Also I had some issues with my brakes wearing too fast. Also the Kompressor model is extremely noisy from engine compartment. The most major problem was when my engine fan broke off and punctured my coolant resevoir causing the car to overheat.
Reply:my buddie has this car and there has been a couple of check engine problems but nothing really big just glitches. nice ride better than my bmw 330ci but takes the turns like a scion (did i spell that correctly.... who cares hahaha).
Reply:My Brother in law has a 2006 C55 AMG edition of the C-Class. That is the car to get, otherwise, buy a honda civic and just deck it out. Most people get the C230 only for the Mercedes Name, these cars are horrible, junky and have absolutly no power and are gutless.
Reply:any new car can have some problems, as for a German cars, not all of them are the best on the market. I lived in Germany about two years and the surprising discovery was a " MONTAGS AUTO" translate as Monday car. No matter what make, cars build by Mondays always had some problems. When you ask any German, all of them know that. The explanation is simple, people don't pay enough attention at work after tough weekend, and Germans love the beer
Reply:The person you heard this bad tip from must be unreliable. The many luxury features and price you get from a Mercedes-Benz C230 Kompressor, you can barely get a barebone nothing BMW. Shop around for yourself.
Reply:The early model had there electrical quarks but they are a nice reliable car in comparison to alot in it's class. 2005 and up are better built.
Reply:My brother has this car, it is ok, many repairs

to electronics
Reply:nope.
Reply:So far I didn't have any problems.
Reply:where did you hear that?

My wife drives one and it's the best car she has ever had.

it's not great on size, but i drive a Cadillac, a Lincoln and a RR. i'm used to a bigger car.
Reply:i have one. a 2003......i bought it new. i had a problem with the car dieing......just cutting out in the middle of a road..it scared me because i would not know when it was ging to happen, espicially if i was on the turnpike.the dealer could find nothing wrong but it continued.i even had the mercedes tech look at it......finally after months of problems the tech said there was some kind of shiting problem.don"t buy a used one.....my warrenty runs out in march and i have only12,000 miles
