I have a warning light on the dashboard. It's yellow/orange and is a picture of a rectangular tank with wavy water in it. It appears to have a filler cap on top and an overflow on the side.

Reply:definately sounds like your coolant level is low. might be located near the air box under the bonnet or check that there is no filler cap directly on the radiator.

Reply:the yellow cap on a merc usually indicates low power steering fluid. hence a yellow cap on the resovoir to the righ under the bonnet
Reply:It indicates that the coolant level is low in the reservoir. This is in the owners manual. If you do not have one, order it. It is wealth of information and as vital a part as the speedometer on your car.
Reply:The switch on your reservoir indicates that you are low on coolant , Keep it full and light will go off. hope this helps.
