Class C Felony One charge first offense no record?
All felonies have mandatory jail time in Texas. First off definitely get a lawyer, do not allow a court appointed lawyer to work your case, they won't do a good job , court appoint lawyers know whose writing their checks, the county. .
Reply:I assume you're a New Yorker. A first-time felony conviction for a NON VIOLENT Class C felony is eligible for probation. Whether you get probation or jail depends on many factors, including your family situation. If you can plead this down to a Class E felony and make restitution, you are substantially certain to get probation. The fuzziness about the amount makes it more likely that the DA will bargain.

Good luck.
Reply:All depends on where the crime is being prosecuted and your record. I'll assume no record or else you would be asking your lawyer.

In urban counties you likely would not get jail time for a non violent crime, even a felony. Class C in most places is the lowest felony. A felony conviction qualifies you for state time. They do not have the room for non violent offenders, especially money offenses.

You would usually get probation pending pay back and some type of community service.
