I can buy a class C motor home with a Chevy Workhorse v8 engine or with a Ford Triton V10. Why is better/why

Growing up we always had a Ford...I have no experience with chevy truck engines. What is the maintainence like? We have learned that the Chevy Workhorse will give better gas mileage. Is that because it is only a V8?

It depends on what you want. The Chevrolet Workhorse is a 5.8 liter V8 with 335 HP and the Ford Triton is a 6.4 liter V10 with 363 HP. The V10 will out pull the V8 and runs smoother. It has a slightly higher maintenance cost and gets 1-3 MPG less. You determine your needs on the highway and if you are pulling toys along behind your motor home to make the best choice.
