2008 c class with touch shift, what is the proper way of using it?

The touch shift lets you select what gear you want to shift through, but can you manually shift


(like a stick) from 1st gear to 6th gear?

you start in first gear and start driving, your RPMs will get to 2,800 - 3,200 and then you shift to the second gear and you will keep doing this until you get to you six gear.
Reply:You will be unable to shift the car from 1st to 6th without going through the other gears sequentially. The touch shift basically overrides the pre-set shift points allowing the driver to have greater control over their acceleration/deceleration. So, you can go up or down through the gears like a stick, but you must do so in order.
Reply:no u will not be able to go from 1st to 6th. U have to be a certain RPM to shift to the next gear. And if ur in 6th gear and come to a stop it will automatically put u in a lower gear.
Reply:I am not real sure how the touch shift works... but I would recommend shifting up through the gears to avoid any unnecasary damage.
