Is the Mercedes c-class 200k noticeably quicker than the 180k?

I am choosing my first company car - I currently drive a mazda mx-5 and really appreciate the performance. Does anyone know if the 20 or so more bhp in the 200k sports coupe makes it that much faster than the 180k - i.e. is it worth the extra £50 I will pay a month in company car tax?

Thanks

Dont matter really, they are both shite
Reply:If you care about performace, 9.9 seconds versus 9.4 seconds from 0-60 is just choice between two bad options. That's like choosing a pet lizard over a pet snake because the lizard is more cuddly. If you want a fast car, get a fast car - but not a 180 or 200 c-class.
Reply:In my opinion its not worth thr extra £50,take the 180 and get yourself a 200 badge for it. Nobody will know any different, problem solved.
Reply:i would pick the 180 because you car wont spend as much time off the road and in the dealership because the 200 has a lot of teething problems
Reply:the merc c 200k is faster than the 180k by half a second from 0-60 but that doesn't mean it is fast!

merc c180 0-60 in 9.9sec 137mph

merc c200 0-60 in 9.4sec 144mph £21005

the c coupe isn't a very good car even tho it is a merc. i would seriously consider the new audi tt. the c class coupe isn't very popular with bad reviews and not in the same league as the tt.

check out some reviews of the tt http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/motori...

new version! audi tt 2.0t at £24625 ( i have one ordered), amazing car, amazing reviews, amazing residuals, amazing quality.

0-60 6.6secs!! 149mph
Reply:Not a lot of difference not worth the extra money.Beware of the merc dealers they have a poor reputation.
Reply:the C200k is not much quicker than the C180k.

Coupe are not good, and that's why Mercedes is not making them anymore.

If you are driving an MX-5, you will be totally digusted by the Merc's handling and performance. Trust me, I got a MX-5 and a C200k too. Bad choice for the latter.

So if you want a company car, I say go for BMW 3 series. 318i may not have super-car power, but at least it got a sweet handling. Company car and handling...2 in 1
Reply:I have a lot of experience of Mercedes as I run a car hire company and would suggest that you keep the extra £50 per month as the C180K is just as driveable as the C200K. The C180K se Avantgarde is the car to have as it looks the part with it's 5 spoke alloys...They are a nice car but don't ever expect anyone to let you out at junctions!
Reply:depends on the weight, miata is real light, ull definitly accelerate faster...but the benz will probably be more comfterable, and have higher topspeed, if you plan on speeding...

I hope this helps.
